Summit Meadow Veratrum Location: Yosemite National Park. To get there, you leave Yosemite Valley and go south to Glacier Point Road. This is the way to Badger Pass Ski Area, Sentinel Dome, and eventually, Glacier Point. This picture was taken at Summit Meadow. There is a large meadow on the south of the road and there are Veratrum (californicum?) all around. Find the location: Copy the coordinates below. Open Google Earth, paste the coordinates into "Fly To" and click on the magnifying glass. 37° 40’ 24.22” N Equipment: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 24-105 lens (at 105 mm) for 2.5 sec. f 16. ISO 50 with polarizing filter. Digital imaging/manipulation: Sharpened. Notes: Know as "false hellibore," this plant grows in soggy meadows. It is poisonous if eaten.
